Do you cater for complete beginners? Yes! Even if you have never danced a single step before and think you have two left feet, that's why we have a class specifically for beginners where we will teach you the basics and you can progress at your own pace.
Do I need to book? No! We do not run any courses or tie ins, just come along, pay for the evening and enjoy the dancing.
How much does it cost? £5 for members or £6 for non members per session, this includes the warm up, lessons and freestyle dancing.
What is Membership?
In order to keep prices low and to reward our regular dancers you can now become a member for only £10 per year. This will entitle you to discounted prices at both classes and party nights.
What do I wear? Clothes are always a good start! Anything that you feel comfortable in, something that you can move freely in. Shoes are quite important, we recommend that you do not wear trainers or other rubber soled shoes as these can stick to the floor and prevent you from being able to turn properly. We also suggest that flip flops etc are not worn as these do not support your feet and can cause accidents and injuries. Most ladies prefer a small heel but this is not essential.
Do I need a partner? No, although if you are a lady and have one or can persuade any extra males to come along with you, do, there tends to be a slight shortage usually! You don't have to come with a partner as we rotate everyone during the lessons.
How do I progress? When your class instructors feel that you have mastered all the moves in your class and you feel confident to do so, we will encourage you to move up to the next level. There is no set time period for this process as we prefer you to progress at your own pace.
What style of salsa do you teach? We teach a mix of Cuban and New York salsa starting on the one count. We also teach merengue, bachata, rueda and cha-cha.
